Making Reservations
We reserve the right to turn away:
Aggressive dogs to humans or other dogs - escape artists - pets with internal or external parasites - ill pets - dogs whom we believe will not do well in a boarding situation (mainly from separation anxiety or are afraid of other dogs, because it is a pet resort and they will see and hear other dogs) - any human customer whom we think that we will not be able to please no matter what we do.
We do our best to care for your pets. Some dogs really require baths before pickup because they are extremely active and must fingerpaint everywhere when they get the chance. Some can get diarrhea do to the changes. . . But the majority of them love to come and visit which helps them do extremely well. Most dogs will play outside with others (if you would like) and may smell like a dirty little kid from their activities. We also DON'T want to send home a pet that may have fleas or ticks. If your pet comes into our facility with fleas or ticks they will be treated at owners expense. We DO NOT want that in our facility. Please let us know if you would like for your pet to have a bath or groomed before departure.
We will no longer take brand new customers for holiday reservations. We stay busy most of the year so reservations are required & book very early for holidays. To make reservations or questions about any of the services we offer:

Please leave a message if no answer. If you call during business hours we will return your call within minutes. Messages received after hours will be returned the following morning. The same applies for email reservations or questions.

K-9 Acres is located 4 miles west on Hwy 51 from Tahlequah towards Hulbert. Turn west on the Hwy 51 bypass between Walmart and Hollywood Video. Go about two miles on the bypass until you come to the 2nd intersection stop light. Turn left (west) at that stop light. You will now be across from the airport and on the Highway 51 two lane. As soon as you turn onto the two lane from the stoplight intersection you go exactly 4.5 miles towards Hulbert. Look for a large K-9 Acres sign on Coos Thompson Rd. off the left side (south side) of Hwy 51. Go down Coos Thompson Rd. for 1/16 mile and the Entrance will be on the left.

** The Bordetella vaccine is to prevent kennel cough and is administered every 6 months through intranasal or injection at least two weeks prior to boarding. You must request this vaccine from your vet, because it is not always given at annual exams. Kennel cough is a highly contagious virus (similar with the flu in humans) spread from dog to dog through the air. Kennel cough is not always life threatening, unless in extremely old pets or with weak immune systems. Your pet may still catch kennel cough from other dogs even though they have had the vaccine. It will just be a very mild form. Kennel Cough will cause your dog to have a deep hacking cough and nasal discharge that may last for 1 week and will just need to run it course. The only way to help prevent the spread of Kennel Cough in a Kennel, Day Care or Grooming Salon is to make sure all dogs have the vaccine. We will be happy to discuss other bordetella vaccine options with you.
