The History behind K-9 Acres Pet Resort 

The inspiration of K-9 Acres came about in 1976 when my grandparents built a small 10-run  kennel on their dairy farm as a hobby.  I would help my grandmother with the boarders when I was a child, loving every minute of it.  Many years later; after college and starting a family, I wanted a business where I could work from home.  So I advertised with local vets and newspapers for boarding using my grandmothers old kennel and also pet sitting on the side.  The demand for boarding was so great there was absolutely no way that little building could handle the capacity.  I chose to build a new kennel which turned out to be 3 times the size of the original plans, turning my little dream into a full blown Pet Resort which can accommodate up to 100 customers.

I soon found out, with the experience from the old kennel, my customers wanted special one-on-one attention for their beloved pets, additional exercise and certain foods, treats and medications.  As I cared for all of the pets as my customers requested, I could see the little guys really enjoyed themselves at that ol' kennel, so I incorporated all the love and attention to my fury guests into the new Pet Resort.  When they would come in for their next visit they could not wait to go in and see what was going on in K-9 Acres.

Our daily activities include lots of exercise, petting, loving, treats - all inclusive.  We take pride in our Pet Resort and want each pet eager to come back for a vacation.
